The instructor will teach Introduction to Education and manage student classroom observation hours. Responsibilities include developing course outlines, delivering lectures in various modes, and evaluating student progress toward course objectives.
A Master's degree in Education or a related field is required, with a preference for 3+ years of special education experience. A PhD or Ed.D in a related educational field is preferred.
Instructor will teach Introduction to Education and be actively involved in the primary duties of the course. Teaching includes, but is not limited to, the following Teaching assignments will provide students an overview of education. . Management of student’s classroom observation hours. Meeting all classes at the time, place and length of time designated. Teaching courses as assigned which correlate with the catalog descriptions and course outlines in a manner designed to assist the student to achieve the specific objectives of the course. Providing each student at the beginning of each course with a course outline which may include the following information: The goals, objectives and content for the course of study. Required and supplementary textbooks to be used. Attendance requirements. Behavior and discipline requirements. Planned schedule of examinations, field trips or other special activities. Out-of-class assignment policy Method of evaluating student progress toward an achievement of course goals and objectives, including the method by which the final grade is derived. Information about office hour availability and appointment procedures. Other information that advises students of those requirements established by the instructor for meeting the course objectives. Assigned courses, days, times and/or locations may vary from semester to semester. Assignments may be any combination of classroom and online modes. Assignments may be located on any combination of CSN's several campuses. Assignments may be any combination of morning, afternoon and evening hours. Assignments may be any combination of any days of the week including weekends. Assignments may be any combination of courses for which instructor is qualified. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Education, Educational Psychology, Curriculum and Instruction, ESL or other related degrees and a preference of 3+ years of special education teaching experience.
