The Assistant Professor will teach a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester in Social Work and related social sciences. Responsibilities include developing curriculum for the Social Work transfer pathway, advising students, and coordinating field education partnerships.
Title: Assistant Professor of Social Work
This is a 9-month, term contract position.
The Assistant Professor will perform day-to-day operations of the instructional programs in the Communication and Social Sciences department, within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Faculty member will also provide advisement to students, participate in college committees and campus activities, and develop coursework and curriculum for the Social Work transfer pathway.
The standard teaching load is 15 credit hours per semester.
The teaching assignment may include online; hybrid; and/or distance classes, evening classes, dual-enrollment, and off-campus locations.
The instructor is responsible for the success of the teaching/learning process within the classroom.
Service
Assist the Dean in reviewing and updating curriculum for the Social Work transfer pathway.
Coordinate field education partnerships for all Social Work students.
Serve on committees and task forces as approved by the Dean.
Build and sustain partnerships with local schools, community organizations, and industry stakeholders through marketing and recruitment events.
Coordinate and attend academic advisory meetings for the Social Work department.
Use professional knowledge and skills to contribute to local and professional community activities whenever appropriate.
Contribute to the advancement of institutional goals through appropriate individual goals.
Attend graduation.
Professional Development (Teaching and Discipline/Field)
Participate in annual professional development activities.
Stay current in disciplinary and pedagogical knowledge and best practices.

• Master’s degree in Social Work from a regionally accredited institution.
$48, 351 - $58,021 (Annual salary depending on eligible experience, which is defined by the current compensation plan.)
