Supports teaching faculty by coordinating course schedules, managing curricular activities, and facilitating the delivery of preclinical courses. Handles logistical processes including room setup, student attendance monitoring, and coordination with IT and facility departments.
Requires a high school diploma or associate degree and at least one year of higher education-related experience. Candidates must possess intermediate competency in spreadsheet development and strong organizational skills.
Attend required department and assigned course and lab planning meetings. Consult, interact, and work collaboratively with faculty/course directors, Simulation Lab (SIM), and Standardized Patient (SP) Directors with respect to Clinical Skills sessions. Efficiently communicate with the IT Department and facility Department to ensure the correct setup and room space, and other events to facilitate a successful session. This includes physical presence before, during, and after the event. Tasks include but are not limited to scheduling faculty and other participants, scheduling appropriate room/facility, confirming students’ availability, generating rosters and other course/lab materials, preparing room set-up and equipment, checking in and monitoring students’ participation/ attendance/ scores, support delivery of curriculum, troubleshoot video or technical issues. Course Coordinator Level I may support and back up other department staff, depending on assignment and availability of other coordinators/staff. Act as point of contact for new department staff, answer questions on processes as assigned. Arrange space, guest accommodation, tours, food, and other applicable activities for the department. Provide on-site coordination and consultation, which includes problem-solving, decision-making, and interaction with others. Provide input on departmental budget related to course instruction expenditures and future needs. Compose related correspondence in support of assigned duties. Assist in creating, editing and dissemination of course related material and schedules. Assist in implementation and monitoring of new course related materials and technology. Ensure adequate supply of necessary supplies related to course and lab support and generate requests and complete orders as needed. Communicate across departmental lines, help coordinate, and message curricular events and materials inside the organization. Coordinate with support staff and faculty to effectively manage the delivery of curriculum-related activities at Burrell College. Assist other support staff with day-to-day operations when needed. Ensure adequate supplies for all teaching sessions and student educational activities with instructional support staff. Maintain security and confidentiality of Burrell College information. May assist with other administrative responsibilities for the department, based on operational needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Required to set up document formats in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and function in any other software program required by the position. Previous experience with Canvas or another Learning Management System (e.g., Banner, Blackboard) would be preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with administration, faculty, students, Clinicians, and the public. Excellent customer service skills, and email/phone etiquette. Leading, guiding, and assisting other stakeholders to train on institutional computer systems and software packages. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to strategize. Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Organizational skills and the capacity to prioritize a heavy workload and manage detail-oriented tasks in a timely fashion are a must. Flexibility and Adaptability. Ability to quickly adjust and cope with last-minute changes, anticipate potential issues and plan to accommodate necessary fluctuations. Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and communicate their completion to close the loop. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and data. Strong organizational and planning skills that reflect the ability to prioritize competing demands, and complete action items efficiently with minimal supervision. Ability to interact with individuals from different cultures and professional backgrounds, and exercise good “people skills” verbally and written. Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Education: High School Diploma / Associate degree Experience: at least 1 year of higher education-related training/experience that provides candidates with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Intermediate competency with spreadsheet development and data management.
