Tiffin University is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and student-focused Pickleball Coach to lead and develop our Club & Recreation Sports Pickleball Program. The Pickleball Coach provides coaching, mentorship, and organizational leadership to student-athletes participating in recreational and competitive pickleball activities while fostering sportsmanship, wellness, and student engagement. The Pickleball Coach is responsible for organizing and conducting practices, providing instruction and skill development, assisting with competition scheduling, and supporting the overall growth and success of the Pickleball Club. The coach will serve as a positive representative of the university and help create an inclusive, engaging environment for students of all skill levels.
· Plan, organize, and lead team practices and instructional sessions. · Teach and develop pickleball fundamentals, strategies, rules, and techniques. · Prepare students for recreational play, tournaments, and intercollegiate club competitions. · Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and personal development among participants. · Assist with player recruitment and retention efforts to grow club membership. · Coordinate competition schedules and tournament participation in collaboration with Campus Recreation staff. · Ensure adherence to university policies, Club Sports guidelines, and safety standards. · Monitor equipment needs and assist with inventory management. · Communicate effectively with student leaders, participants, and university staff. · Attend practices, competitions, meetings, and special events as required. · Serve as a mentor and resource for student club officers. · Promote an inclusive and welcoming environment for participants of all backgrounds and experience levels.
· High school diploma or equivalent. · Demonstrated knowledge of pickleball rules, techniques, and gameplay strategies. · Previous experience coaching, instructing, competing, or participating in pickleball. · Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. · Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
· Associate's or Bachelor's degree. · Previous coaching experience at the recreational, club, high school, collegiate, or community level. · Experience organizing tournaments, leagues, or competitive events. · Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (or willingness to obtain).
Physical Requirements · Ability to actively demonstrate skills and participate in practices. · Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move around court facilities for extended periods. · Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 25 pounds.
Work Schedule · This is a part-time position with hours varying based on practice schedules, competitions, and special events. Evening and weekend availability are required.
