Description We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our outpatient pediatric therapy team. The licensed SLPA assumes direct care of children and their families on an out-patient diagnostic team under the supervision of a licensed and ASHA certified speech-language pathologist. Pediatric experience is preferred. The ideal candidate is energetic, collaborative, and passionate about helping children achieve meaningful participation in their daily lives.
Provide effective speech-language therapy services based on individualized client needs using a family-centered approach that aligns with evidence-based practices and the mission and vision of Siskin Children's Institute (SCI). Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Provide support, education, and coaching to families and caregivers to facilitate the implementation of therapy strategies within daily routines. Collaborate with caregivers, therapists, teachers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to promote optimal patient care and outcomes. Maintain clinical caseload expectations as established by the supervisor. Seek guidance from the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist as needed and effectively utilize scheduled supervision opportunities. Ensure timely and accurate completion of therapy notes, evaluations, progress reports, discharge summaries, and other required medical record documentation. Comply with professional standards related to treatment procedures, ethical practice, and licensure requirements. Follow departmental procedures, policies, and standards. Adhere to all safety, infection control, and standard precaution protocols, including any additional measures required by organizational or community needs. Accurately document treatment sessions, progress, and patient response in a timely manner Communicate effectively with families regarding home programming and progress updates Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (OT, PT, SLP, and support staff) to ensure coordinated care Maintain compliance with state practice acts, ethical standards, and organizational policies Participate in team meetings, professional development, and clinic initiatives Regular and consistent attendance This role is intended to be flexible and adaptive. Any and all duties as assigned over time may be required to support organizational needs.
