The Learning Experience – Upper West Side is seeking an experienced and passionate Preschool Lead Teacher to guide our preschool classroom. This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys creating engaging learning experiences that foster confidence, curiosity, and kindergarten readiness while leading a collaborative classroom team.
As a Preschool Lead Teacher, you will create a nurturing, structured environment where children develop academically, socially, and emotionally through purposeful play and our proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum.
Key Responsibilities: Lead daily classroom routines for preschool-aged children
Implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons using the L.E.A.P. Curriculum
Foster children's language, literacy, math readiness, social-emotional, and cognitive development
Create a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
Mentor and support assistant teachers while maintaining classroom consistency
Build strong partnerships with families through regular communication and developmental updates
Observe, document, and support children's developmental progress
Maintain compliance with New York State and NYC health, safety, and licensing requirements
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education required
Previous preschool classroom leadership experience preferred
Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP)
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Must meet all New York State and NYC childcare licensing requirements
