With unwavering dedication, we have nurtured and strengthened families, evolving our programs to meet the ever-changing needs of those we serve. Our mission is to provide children and youth in Arizona a safe environment, free from abuse and neglect by creating strong and successful families. Our Head Start program is ready to hire Teacher I’s to join the team in our Early Education Services Department. We are looking for compassionate, energetic, and dependable individuals that are committed to build a classroom of learning for children receiving services. In this role, you will spend most of your time providing support to the Teacher II in a fun, positive classroom setting providing a safe and secure environment for twenty children. Play will guide your day as you create an energetic classroom filled with activities that meet the needs of children’s interests and differing skills. You will encourage responsibility, independence, and problem solving through positive guidance methods. You will support classroom planning, completion of home visits, child screenings and assessments. Meal times are a regular routine that allows you to help facilitate a variety of self-help skills while ensuring accurate documentation of the CACFP meal program.
  • QualificationsTo be considered you must have: Preschool CDA or enrolled in a CDA or degree seeking program HS Diploma or GED required At least 6 months experience working with children birth – five in a group setting Must be at least 18 years of age A level one fingerprint clearance card or the ability to obtain one prior to starting Pass a Central Registry Background Check, CAN State Registry Check and Criminal History Check Must have valid Arizona Driver’s License and Pass an Agency driver’s Test Must have clean driving record for past 5 years
  • You are a star candidate if you have the above, and: Associates Degree in Early Childhood or related field with a minimum of 12 credits related to infant/toddler development Spanish/English bilingual capabilities preferred Demonstrate center’s expectations for sensitivity and competency relating to diversity and cultural awareness. Speak with children in a friendly, positive, courteous manner while listening to children with attention and respect to create a positive learning environment where routines are established through trust.
