Do you enjoy teaching and engaging children to help them learn, create and thrive? Come work with your peers and play with kids while being a role model who creates a welcoming and safe environment for children to grow and play. As a Club J JCH Teacher you will create and implement programs and promote learning in an after-school program for children in grades K-6. Your focus will be on the Jewish Culture and Hebrew track of Club J. Come work at our large community center with free access to our full fitness facilities!

Interact with and supervise school-age children in individual and group settings to broaden their learning experiences Support the Club JCH program, as needed, with a focus on curriculum that embraces Jewish culture, history, traditions, language and values. Plan and implement experiences that provide a consistent learning environment that allows for emotional, cognitive, social and physical growth in children Challenge children to interact, learn, create and thrive while conforming to the individual needs of each child Create and actively promote a comfortable and welcoming environment Be a role model to children and others by maintaining a positive attitude
High School Diploma or GED; Associate Degree preferred 1+ year of experience teaching in a licensed child care center or comparable program preferred 1 year of experience in youth program development preferred 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development (CD) units or units recognized by Community Care Licensing as qualifying in an afterschool setting Hebrew speaking preferred Experience with and knowledge of Jewish culture, traditions and values Cleared Background Check (Fingerprints, Child Abuse Index Check and Medical/TB exam) Valid and appropriate California Driver License Safe driving record which meets the OFJCC insurance requirements. Must pass drug test as required for new drivers Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certified Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Ability to communicate information clearly (written and oral) Ability and desire to work independently and as a team member with the community and other employees Familiarity with Jewish culture, rituals and values is preferred but not required Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities when required Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Positive, upbeat and enthusiastic about working in a non-profit environment
