The English Language Learner (ELL) Tutor provides targeted literacy interventions and structured after-school enrichment for students with identified ELL status. In collaboration with the Webster Site Coordinator, this position supports English language development through small-group instruction, progress monitoring, homework assistance, and engaging lesson plans across academic, creative, recreational, and life skills areas.
This position reports to the Webster Site Coordinator. This is an ONSITE position with onsite work conducted at Congreso's main office and John H. Webster Elementary School.

· Facilitates daily 3-hour after-school programming for up to 12 K-3 students including structured ELL enrichment, homework support, project-based learning, STEAM activities, and hands-on experiences that support their academic, physical, social, and emotional development.
· Develops and delivers lesson plans across creative and performing arts, STEM, athletics, health, and related enrichment areas, including cooking and gardening clubs.
1 or small-group literacy interventions for students with identified ELL status, including phonics-based English Language Arts instruction.
· Supports individualized student learning goals by monitoring achievements, documenting progress, and using Congreso’s data system as appropriate.
· Maintains an organized intervention schedule to ensure students receive the correct support consistently and on time.
· Builds rapport and collaborates with teachers and stakeholders to keep them informed of student progress and support a coordinated learning environment.
· Manages the classroom to encourage positive student interaction, resolve conflicts non-violently, monitor behavior, and recommend disciplinary action to the Site Coordinator when needed.
· Attends required training, professional development, new staff orientation, and ongoing staff meetings.
· Follows all Congreso program policies and procedures.
· Maintains and inventories supplies and equipment, requests needed items in a timely manner and ensures classrooms and school spaces are left in good condition each day.
· Reports any loss, damage, or incidents to the Site Coordinator as soon as possible and documents incidents according to program expectations.

· Attends all Congreso trainings and in-services as required, including relevant professional groups to maintain professional, requisite knowledge and licensure.
· Attends, participates, and facilitates relevant staff meetings to promote communication and execution of goals.
· Ability to effectively use standard office equipment, including a variety of common software programs such as Office365, UNIDAD, and other customized databases.
· Follows through on assignments, works in a timely manner, within established deadlines, and completes special projects specific to the function of the department, as needed or as directed by supervisor.
· Demonstrates ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups, in a compassionate, courteous, and respectful manner that fosters an inclusive environment.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills including effective and respectful communication with individuals and groups.
· Bilingual (Spanish/English) written and verbal skills a must.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Experience, Education, and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED/HISET required. Associate’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field a plus.
2 years’ work experience in early childhood education or afterschool settings required.
Mandated Reporter and VRA training certificates are required and may be completed post hire.
