MORGAN'S EARLY CARE CONNECTION 120 Rogers St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30317 · License No. CCLC-66003
Position Overview We're searching for a phenomenal Preschool Lead Teacher — an educator who can follow a four-year-old's "but why?" all the way down the rabbit hole and turn it into a week of learning. MECC is a small, licensed early care program gearing up to grow. Every teacher here is comfortable across all our age groups, so you'll be at ease with infants through pre-K — but this role is for a true preschool expert who knows how to nurture emerging literacy, early math, imaginative play, and the social-emotional skills that set kids up to thrive in kindergarten and beyond. Bilingual Spanish/English is something we're actively hoping for; it enriches every corner of the classroom and every family relationship.
Serve as the lead teacher for our preschool/pre-K room, designing an inquiry-driven, play-based day rooted in children's real curiosity. Nurture emergent literacy and numeracy through stories, songs, dramatic play, and hands-on projects (in English and Spanish where you can). Cultivate cooperative play, friendship, and social problem-solving, coaching kids through conflict with warmth and restorative practice. Support school readiness — focus, following multi-step directions, and confidence — without rushing childhood. Observe and document learning against GELDS, and make children's thinking visible to families in ways they can celebrate. Partner closely with families, honoring each family's language, culture, and hopes for their child. Collaborate flexibly across age groups as we grow, with the preschool room as your specialty and home base.
Genuine expertise in and love for preschool-age development and learning. Experience as a lead teacher in a licensed preschool/pre-K setting strongly preferred. Associate's or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or a clear path toward one). Familiarity with Georgia's Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) and Bright from the Start licensing. Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred. Comfort and warmth across all early-childhood age groups, with preschool as your specialty. Deep commitment to a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and anti-racist environment.
Market context
In Georgia, classroom teacher roles often draw steady interest because schools and child-focused programs need candidates who can meet licensing, safety, and classroom support requirements. This role is competitive for applicants who can show reliability, comfort with active supervision, and readiness to pass background checks; one year of child care experience is preferred, but not always required. Review the AI-summarized requirements and benefits here to save research time, then confirm your fit for the physical duties and prepare examples of working with children.
