Vanguard Classical School is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and experienced Assistant Soccer Coach to lead our student athletes in a successful and enriching sports program. The ideal candidate will focus on skill development, promoting teamwork, emphasizing good sportsmanship, and ensuring a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all participants.
Coaching & Instruction Plan, organize, and conduct daily practice sessions and competitive events. Teach fundamental sport-specific skills, strategies, and rules of the game. Develop individualized and team-based training plans to improve athlete performance. Promote student-athlete conditioning, health, and injury prevention. Program Management Maintain accurate records of attendance, equipment inventory, and athlete performance. Coordinate with the Athletic Director for scheduling, transportation, and facilities use. Ensure all school and league policies and safety regulations are strictly followed. Manage equipment distribution, maintenance, and end-of-season collection. Student Development Act as a positive role model, demonstrating high ethical standards and sportsmanship. Inspire student-athletes to prioritize academic excellence and responsible behavior. Foster a sense of community, teamwork, and accountability among team members. Communicate effectively and regularly with players, parents, staff, and the Athletic Director regarding schedules, expectations, and student progress.
Required Prior coaching experience, preferably at the high school level (ages 14-18). Demonstrated knowledge of the rules, techniques, and strategies of the specific sport(s). Ability to relate positively and effectively with middle school students, parents, and colleagues. Must possess or be able to obtain necessary certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, required coaching certifications, and background checks) upon hire. Preferred Experience in a mission-driven educational environment (similar to Vanguard Classical School). Experience with multiple sports (e.g., coaching both a Fall and a Spring sport). Your employment by the Vanguard Classical School may provide you with information that is confidential and proprietary to the Vanguard Classical School or to its affiliated schools including, but not limited to, any trade secret, any financial, educational, fundraising, student, and/or personnel files, records and/or information (collectively "Confidential Information"), and that disclosure of any Confidential Information could cause irreparable harm to the Vanguard Classical School and its students. You agree not to communicate, divulge, or disclose to any other person, firm, or entity or use for your own benefit or purposes, any Confidential Information, except as required by law or court order or expressly authorized in advance in writing by the Vanguard Classical School. This covenant shall survive the expiration or termination of your employment by the Vanguard Classical School.
