Market context

Part-time advising roles remain steady in Illinois

In Illinois, part-time academic advisor roles are typically tied to student retention, registration support, and enrollment cycles, so demand often follows campus advising needs. These positions are competitive because employers look for candidates with a bachelor’s degree, experience with diverse student populations, and familiarity with student development theory; a master’s in student affairs or counseling can strengthen an application. Review the AI-summarized requirements and benefits on this platform to save time, and tailor your resume to show advising, outreach, and student support experience.
