Description Job Title - Teacher of Mathematics and Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD)
The Teacher provides specialized instruction to students with language-based learning disabilities and related learning needs. The Teacher reports to the Principal/Executive Director and is responsible for implementing individualized, evidence-based instructional practices aligned with NJDOE requirements, including the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) and all mandates governing instruction for students with disabilities.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution. Appropriate NJ teaching endorsements: Mathematics (e.g., Elementary School Certificate (K-6), Teacher of Supplemental Instruction in Grades K-8, Math 5–8 or Math 7–12, depending on assignment). Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) NJDOE Criminal History Review (Fingerprinting) is required. Professional Knowledge and Skills Demonstrates knowledge of effective teaching methods, evidence-based instructional practices, and developmentally appropriate classroom activities for students with disabilities. Demonstrates the ability to maintain an optimal learning environment that supports academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. Exhibits strong interpersonal and communication skills, including effective collaboration with colleagues, families, and related service providers. Other qualifications as approved by the Head of School, Principal, or Executive Director.
