The 6th Grade Math Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction that prepares students for future academic success while encouraging critical thinking, perseverance, and problem-solving. This teacher will collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and contribute to Ivy Academy's positive, student-focused culture.
Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Valid Tennessee teaching license (or ability to obtain one) Endorsement appropriate for middle grades mathematics Strong classroom management and communication skills Commitment to building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues Must be able to hike 3.5 miles on uneven terrain & lead a class of students in an outdoor environment Preferred: Previous middle school teaching experience Experience with project-based learning (PBL) Knowledge of differentiated instruction and MTSS/RTI practices Experience integrating instructional technology into mathematics instruction
