Special Education Teacher

• Fully REMOTE Special Education Teacher & Case Manager Full-Time | South Dakota Certified | 2026-2027 School Year We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Special Education Teacher/Case Manager to join our team in a fully remote capacity for the upcoming school year.
• This position will primarily focus on special education case management responsibilities, including ensuring compliance with IDEA requirements, coordinating services, facilitating meetings, and maintaining communication with families and school staff.
• While the majority of the role is expected to center around case management, direct instruction and teaching responsibilities will also be included as needed.
• Please note that responsibilities may shift based on district needs between now and the start of the school year in late August.
• Candidates should be comfortable with flexibility and supporting students and staff in multiple capacities.
• Primary Responsibilities: Manage and oversee special education caseloads in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
• Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings and annual reviews.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance records.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned students and families.
• Provide direct instruction and/or specially designed instruction as assigned.
• Support the implementation of accommodations, modifications, and individualized educational programming.
• Participate in virtual staff meetings, professional development, and team collaboration activities.
• Required Qualifications: Active South Dakota Special Education Teacher Certification (REQUIRED).
• Certification must be active and in good standing prior to the start of employment.
• Minimum of one year of experience in special education case management and/or instruction preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IDEA regulations, IEP development, and special education compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with school teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience providing virtual instruction or services. Experience managing a large or diverse special education caseload. Familiarity with online IEP management systems and virtual learning platforms.
