Paraprofessional

Adelphi is seeking Paraprofessionals to provide student support services in a school-based setting located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will work under the direction of teachers and school staff to assist students with academic, behavioral, social, and classroom support needs while helping maintain a safe and positive learning environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or relevant coursework preferred
• Appropriate Pennsylvania school-based credential, permit, or qualifications
• Compliance with applicable Pennsylvania Department of Education requirements
• Experience supporting students in general education or special education settings preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom, small-group, or one-on-one student support as assigned.
• Assist students with academic tasks, classroom routines, and participation in instructional activities.
• Support behavior management strategies under the direction of teachers or school staff.
• Help students transition safely between classrooms, activities, and school settings.
• Reinforce instructional directions and encourage student independence.
• Observe and report student concerns, incidents, or progress to appropriate school staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow all school policies and procedures.
• Adhere to the school’s code of conduct and professional expectations.
• Any other duties as assigned.
