PC Fort Lauderdale - Fort Lauderdale, FL 33334Coach - Cross Country and Track & Field Purpose Pine Crest School is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and knowledgeable Cross Country and Track & Field Assistant Coaches to lead and develop our student-athletes. This position is ideal for someone passionate about distance running, sprints, field events, and building a positive team culture that emphasizes growth, discipline, and sportsmanship. Essential Job Functions Supports the School’s mission statement and the philosophy of the department and adheres to School policies and procedures, including but not limited to what is outlined in the Employee Handbook Assist in planning, organizing, and leading daily practices for cross country and track & field teams Develop training programs tailored to student-athletes of varying skill levels Coach athletes in proper techniques for running events, relays, and/or field events Promote physical fitness, teamwork, and personal accountability Supervise student-athletes during practices, meets, and team events Assist in coordinating meet schedules, travel logistics, and event entries Ensure compliance with school, district, and athletic association policies Maintain communication with student-athletes, parents, and school staff Foster an inclusive and supportive team environment Serve as a mentor, offering support and encouraging the mental and physical development of student-athletes Provides for a safe and secure environment as well as practices associated with the sport Promotes individual growth in traits such as teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship at all times Understands and implements all appropriate rules and regulations according to the sport guideline Maintains proper control and discipline in a positive manner by establishing good, wholesome rapport through healthy, professional relationships Instructs student-athletes in the proper care and use of practice facilities, equipment, and uniforms Accompanies and supervises student-athletes during all activities associated with the sport Stays abreast of the latest advances in all facets of the sport Markets and promotes all athletic teams/programs at Pine Crest Supports the philosophy of the Athletic Department Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Supervisor or their designee Qualifications Job Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree preferred Experience and Qualifications Minimum 1 years’ experience in playing or coaching Cross Country or Track & Field Strong leadership, motivational skills, and clear verbal/written communication Strong knowledge of training principles, conditioning, and injury prevention Ability to teach, motivate and mentor high school student-athletes CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Availability for after-school practices and competitions (including some weekends)
