The Coach is responsible for developing student-athletes in the Upper and Middle Schools by teaching fundamental skills and strategies. They must ensure a safe environment while promoting sportsmanship and adhering to school policies.

PC Fort Lauderdale - Fort Lauderdale, FL 33334Purpose The role of the Coach is to serve as a role model while focusing on the development and improvement of student-athletes in the Upper School and Middle School, and support the mission, philosophy, and operations of the Athletic Department and Pine Crest School. Essential Job Functions Supports the School’s mission statement and the philosophy of the department and adheres to School policies and procedures, including but not limited to what is outlined in the Employee Handbook Teaches, instructs, analyzes, demonstrates, and explains basic skills, fundamentals, techniques, and strategies to student-athletes in a given sport Provides for a safe and secure environment as well as practices associated with the sport Promotes individual growth in traits such as teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship at all times Understands and implements all appropriate rules and regulations according to the sport guidelines Establishes and maintains clear policies related to captain selection, team rules, etc. Maintains proper control and discipline in a positive manner by establishing good, wholesome rapport through healthy, professional relationships Instructs student-athletes in the proper care and use of practice facilities, equipment, and uniforms Accompanies and supervises student-athletes during all activities associated with the sport Stays abreast of the latest advances in all facets of the sport Markets and promotes all athletic teams/programs at Pine Crest Supports the philosophy of the Athletic Department Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Supervisor or their designee Qualifications Job Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree preferred Experience and Qualifications Minimum 1 years’ experience in playing or coaching organized sports
