Plan and implement individualized classroom instruction to meet the educational needs of students with autism and developmental disabilities. Monitor and modify IEP goals while utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis for intervention and data collection.
Requires a Bachelor's degree and eligibility for N.J. Teacher of Disabilities certification. Preference is given to candidates with at least one year of special education teaching experience.
Plans and implements classroom instruction, specializing within one or more areas of curriculum, to specifically meet the educational needs of students and to encourage the best possible student educational experience. Assesses abilities and capabilities of individual students; develops, organizes, and implements lesson plans and activities that are individual-specific, meet the learning needs of each student, encourage increased skills, and address specific IEP goals Monitors existing IEPs to ensure that stated educational goals and objectives are appropriate, achievable, and continue to meet the educational needs of individual students Recommends appropriate modifications to the existing IEP May conduct parent training in the classroom and at home Utilize the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis throughout observation, intervention, data collection, and assessment
Bachelor’s degree and eligibility for formal certification such as N.J. Teacher of Disabilities (or of the Handicapped) required. Minimum of one year of teaching experience in special education preferred Eligibility for Highly-Qualified Teacher status required. Knowledge of teaching methods and educational programs designed for students with learning, physical and behavior disabilities. Effective teaching and facilitation skills required.
