Job description

This position is only for high school instructors interested in teaching dual credit classes for northeast community college

The credential requirements for Northeast Community College early college faculty are as follows:

  • Transfer faculty
  • Faculty teaching courses intended for transfer to four-year institutions will hold a minimum of a master’s degree which includes substantial study appropriate to the academic field in which they are teaching (typically a minimum of 18 semester hours of graduate credit).
  • General education faculty
  • Faculty teaching general education courses intended for transfer to four-year institutions will hold the same minimum credentials as all transfer faculty. Faculty teaching general education courses not intended for transfer will hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the subject area, or a master’s degree with significant course work at the undergraduate and/or graduate level (typically a minimum of 18 semester hours of credit), with experience appropriate to the subject area.
  • Career and technical faculty
  • Career and technical faculty will hold a bachelor’s degree, or associate degree and a combination of licensure and/or certification in the field equating to a bachelor’s degree, in addition to a minimum of five years of related work experience.
  • Academic support faculty
  • Faculty teaching academic support courses will hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the subject area, or a master’s degree with significant course work at the undergraduate and/or graduate level (typically a minimum of 18 semester hours of credit), with experience appropriate to the subject area.
  • Short-Term skills based classes
  • Faculty teaching courses intended to prepare students for skills-based training or a certification test and not meeting a degree requirement will have successfully completed the training necessary to teach such skills and certification/licensure if required or have three years of related experience.
