Job description

We are seeking a behavioral technician to support our summer camp and after school programs. The behavioral technician will play a key role in supporting children with behavioral, social-emotional, and inclusion needs. Working closely under the supervision of the Senior Clinical Director, the Behavioral Technician will implement individualized strategies and accommodations to support each child's development. The role involves accurate data collection and progress tracking to ensure an effective learning environment for all children.

Job Description

Ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for children and families. Implement individualized program supports with integrity and fidelity. Develop and adapt materials such as visual aids, schedules, and other resources tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. Collect and record accurate data on student progress, ensuring integrity in the process and providing data for analysis and adjustment. Model positive reinforcement techniques, offering praise and feedback, and encourage staff to do the same. Provide children with choices and empower them across all settings. Lead the implementation of both group and individual reinforcement systems, while monitoring and communicating progress and necessary adjustments to the Senior Clinical Director. Plan and implement small social groups, ensuring accommodations are in place to foster inclusion and participation for all children. Utilize and model de-escalation strategies to support children in managing emotional regulation. Assist children in developing essential social, communication, and daily living skills. Work alongside other support staff to share observations, strategies and insights to ensure child development Observe and document changes in behavior, communication, and social skills to help identify patterns, triggers, and progress in alignment with the child's goals. Encourage children to use self-regulation strategies, such as mindfulness or calming techniques, to manage emotions and behaviors independently. Stay up-to-date with best practices in behavioral management, child development, and inclusive education by attending training sessions, workshops, and team meetings. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines when documenting and sharing sensitive information about children's progress, behaviors, or personal circumstances.

Qualifications

Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements: Be currently pursuing or hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Recreation, Physical Education, the Arts, or a similar field) and have at least six (6) months of experience working with school-age children; OR Be currently pursuing or hold a Bachelor's degree in any field, or an Associate's degree in any field, and have at least nine (9) months of experience working with school-age children. If not already certified, must complete the 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training within 90 days of hire. Continued employment in this role is contingent upon meeting this requirement. Additional details regarding certification will be provided in the official offer letter. Additional Requirements:
