ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Builds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests. While exemplifying the Y’s commitment to the four-character values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility and responds to all member and community inquiries promptly. Supervises a group of children grades K-5. Plans and implement program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally proper, and consistent with the YMCA values. Provides leadership to co-staff. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards. Attends staff meetings, training, and dedicated events. (Family nights and others) Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies. Fulfills any other functions designated by the YMCA Administration.
At least 18 years of age Must pass a background check 2+ years' experience working with youth preferably in a school age setting. Behavioral management experience within a School, Childcare, Camp setting or parenthood is preferred. 1-3 years' experience working with children with cognitive and developmental disabilities is preferred. Effective verbal communication skills CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse Prevention training with the first 30 days of hire. Completed health form within the first 30 days of hire.
