The ESE Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive special education program and managing IEP documents. They collaborate with faculty and parents to support the intellectual and social development of diverse learners.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree and a valid teaching certification with 1 to 3 years of successful teaching experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening are required.
Essential functions of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following: Understands how students learn and provides learning opportunities that support intellectual, social, and personal development of diverse learners Evaluates student progress and uses formal and informal assessment strategies to determine whether students have achieved high standards and modifies instructional strategies as needed to maximize achievement. Ensure compliance with District requirements. Assist in preparing reports to document progress and effectiveness of services. Assist in identifying compliance concerns and reporting them to the ESE Coordinator Utilize the electronic management system to update IEP documents. Provides teachers, students and parents with timely data for improvement in student achievement. Identify student issues which need to be addressed and plan strategies that support students with disabilities. Collaborate with faculty in the implementation of the IEP. Provide teacher support by use of modeling, coaching and other support strategies. Partner with the ESE Coordinator to develop behavior plans for ESE students Provide testing support. Attend and participate in parent meetings as required; maintain regular contact with parents as required by statute relate to students in special programs. Works effectively with school colleagues, parents, and the community to support students’ learning and well-being. Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff. Actively engages in professional development opportunities. Performs other related duties as required.
