Provide direct occupational therapy services to students to improve functional abilities and integrate therapy strategies into the educational curriculum. Assist in evaluating student needs, developing treatment plans, and monitoring progress toward IEP goals.
Must hold an Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program. A valid Nevada COTA license is required.
Essential Job Responsibilities Providing direct therapy services to students, focusing on improving their functional abilities in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living. Collaborating with classroom teachers to integrate occupational therapy strategies into the educational curriculum. Assisting in the adaptation of learning environments and materials to enhance student participation and independence. Contributing to the IEP process by providing insights on student progress and recommending appropriate interventions. Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of student assessments, interventions, and progress. Participating in team meetings and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in school-based occupational therapy.
