As a Teacher Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to create fun, nurturing spaces where they can grow, learn, and thrive.
ACAP is hiring full-time Teacher Assistants for 10-month positions in our preschool classrooms and year-round positions in our Early Head Start classrooms at our early childhood education centers in Albany County, New York. Pay starts at $18.96 per hour; 10-month positions or year-round positions are available; Monday through Friday with available schedules of 30-35 hours per week.
High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 1 year of experience in a preschool classroom, child care, daycare, or other early childhood education setting is required. A CDA credential is strongly recommended. An associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or associated field (at least 15 hours of ECE coursework) with a minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred. Bi- or Multi-lingual skills are a plus.
Help teachers plan and execute engaging, age-appropriate curriculum for preschool classrooms (children ages 3-5) or Early Head Start classrooms (infants and toddlers) Assist with child education plans, assessments, progress notes, and other required documentation. Help maintain a safe, healthy environment, ensuring adequate supervision in all indoor/outdoor activities and compliance with all safety and licensing standards. Support relationship building with parents/guardians to ensure every child’s growth, development, and well-being are supported both in and out of the classroom.
