California substitute teacher roles are often in steady demand because districts need flexible coverage for absences across elementary and secondary classrooms. Competition can be stronger for candidates who already have classroom experience, strong behavior management, and the required DOJ/FBI clearance and Mandated Reporter Training. Review the district’s assignment preferences and confirm your background-check and training status before applying; this platform’s AI-summarized job requirements and benefits help you quickly compare the original posting without extra research.
