The assistant is responsible for the de-escalation and management of student behavior, specifically monitoring students with high-risk behaviors. They must maintain consistency in applying classroom management techniques within the Behavior Intervention Department.

Academy360 Lower School, a program of Spectrum360, formally known as The Children’s Institute, is actively seeking a Behavior Intervention Department Assistant to join our program. For more than 50 years, Spectrum360 has been developing the academic, social, behavioral, communication, life and career skills of children, adolescents and young adults with autism and related disabilities. Specific responsibilities will include de-escalation and management of student behavior, monitor identified students who engage in high-risk behaviors and maintain consistency in application of classroom management techniques.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Successful experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities.
Demonstrated knowledge of data collection, de-escalation and crisis management, and the implementation of individual behavior plans.
Effective and professional communication and interpersonal skills.
Spectrum360 employee in good standing who has worked for the organization for at least one year.
Enrolled in a Registered Behavior Technician training program.
Enrolled in at least 1 course/semester in a college program or in a field applicable to our student population (i.e. ABA, speech therapy, OT/PT, psychology, counseling).
Enrolled in BCBA coursework.
(PREFERRED) Minimum of 60 college credits, eligible for substitute certification, or completed RBT coursework.
Candidates must have a high school diploma, experience with developmental disabilities, and knowledge of crisis management and data collection. Additionally, they must be a Spectrum360 employee in good standing for at least one year and pursue further relevant education or certification within six months.
