This position exists to maximize both required and open lab learning for nursing students and includes simulation activities in the Simulation and Practice Labs. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, simulation and practice lab maintenance, inventory control/purchasing lab equipment and supplies, simulation/practice lab preparation and operation, facilitate training and instructional use of simulation/lab equipment, facilitate practice of skills previously taught by nursing faculty, reinforce course content previously taught by nursing faculty as directed, document student activities and provide feedback to nursing faculty, and provide administrative support to the nursing department. This employee will have considerable autonomy in their areas of responsibility, although general direction will be provided by Nursing Faculty and the Dean of Nursing.

• Post-secondary or industry diploma or degree in Nursing Sciences AND one year of teaching/tutoring experience in healthcare subjects;
· Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing · Prior simulation experience · Previous experience within the Minnesota State System · Prior experience teaching in the classroom, laboratory, or clinical in a nursing program · The ability to communicate effectively in oral and written communication to diverse individuals, including students, staff, faculty, and healthcare professionals. · The ability to anticipate and address problems pertaining to the operation of lab/simulation equipment and software. The ability to seek out and apply creative approaches to decision-making, lab/simulation preparation, and utilization of resources.
In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (Minnesota State) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
