About the role

Responsible for the educational leadership of 5th grade students, implementing the school's curriculum and the Leader in Me program. The role involves planning creative lessons, managing the classroom environment, and collaborating with parents and colleagues to maximize student achievement.

We're looking for a passionate, student-focused educator to lead an engaging, supportive classroom and help students grow into confident, lifelong learners.

  • What You'll Do
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to student needs and learning styles
  • Build a classroom culture that's safe, respectful, and welcoming
  • Track student progress and adjust your teaching to help every student succeed
  • Champion our Leader in Me program, including direct instruction and school-wide initiatives
  • Set and celebrate goals with students (WIGs: Wildly Important Goals)
  • Keep lesson plans, grades, and attendance accurate and up to date
  • Communicate regularly with parents and participate in staff meetings
  • Partner with colleagues and the community to support student success
  • What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Florida teaching certificate for your grade level and subject (or eligibility to obtain one)
  • Elementary Education preferred for K–5; subject-specific for 6–8 and 9–12
  • Strong communication skills and a solid foundation in curriculum and instruction
  • A growth mindset and genuine enthusiasm for teaching
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, The Leader in Me framework
  • STEM experience a plus; positive references from prior roles

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree and a valid or eligible Florida teaching certificate for Elementary Education. Candidates should demonstrate a growth mindset and proficiency in curriculum and instruction, with STEM knowledge preferred.
