1. Coaches and instructs swimmers in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared practices and workouts accordingly.
2. Builds effective, authentic relationships with swimmers and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourage parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
3. Conveys information on the swim team, aquatics programs and schedules.
4. Attends practices and swim meets as required.
5. Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, swim meet reports, etc.).
6. Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
7. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
8. Organizes and puts away needed swim team equipment. Reports damaged equipment.
9. Train and supervise Junior Swim Coaches as assigned, if necessary.
1. Minimum age of 18.

CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen.
3. USA Swim Coach certifications.
4. Current Lifeguard Training Certification or Safety Training for Swim Coaches.
5. Knowledge of the competitive strokes and techniques, competitive swimming and general water safety.
6. Knowledgeable in Team Unify, Meet Manager, Team Manager
7. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
