The Athletic Trainer is responsible for the care, prevention, and rehabilitation of all athletic-related injuries to Xavier University Student Athletes.
The Athletic Trainer will follow all divisional protocols and procedures as written following Xavier, NCAA, and State of Ohio Board (OTPTAT).
This role is vital to the referral of student-athletes for athletic-related injuries, physical and mental health issues.
Perform various very specialized techniques/services such as Graston Technique, dry needling.
Job responsibilities: 1.
The Athletic Trainer is responsible for the care, prevention, and rehabilitation of all athletic-related injuries to Xavier University student-athletes while working cooperatively with, and under the direction of, the team physician and the Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine in providing the following for all sports: Oversight of the rehabilitation of student athletes.
Referrals to health services including counseling services.
Assistance in examinations and screenings Work with Beacon Orthopedics, TriHealth, and other health-care providers, and Xavier Strength and Conditioning, Student-Athlete Academic Support Service and other relevant entities to support student athletes.
Weekly reporting of injuries to and other relevant parties.
Assume responsibility for one team sport (Women’s Basketball), as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine, which shall include attend all practices and competitions for the team sport; attend the Big East Championship and any additional tournament advancements for all sports for whom they have been assigned.
Assist with sports medicine coverage of other Xavier Athletics events as scheduled.
Perform a variety of specific medical techniques (dry needling, Graston technique, IV solutions).

Oversee daily athletic training room operations under the direct supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine which include Exercise rehabilitation and therapy programs.
Medical record keeping.
Requisition, storage, distribution, and maintenance of supplies.
Inventory and budget allocation.
Making yearly purchase requests as directed Tracking of supplies 3.
Assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine with: On-site testing and implementation of drug education.
The annual Coaches’ Safety Training.
Assist with data monitoring (i.e., Kinexon, SWAY) The day-to-day care and oversight of the Training Room Pharmacy.

Assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine in the supervision of Student Athletic Trainers assigned to the Xavier Sports Medicine Facilities: Assignments.

Liaison to Clinical Coordinator for yearly in-service for Athletic Training Students JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or Master's degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-accredited program required Current certification through the Board of Certification (BOC), or eligible to obtain certification Current state athletic training license (Ohio), or eligible for licensure Professional resecure CPR/AED Certification Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
