Description

The Center on Aging and Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Wound Care to join our team in Erwin. This full-time, on-site position provides an exceptional opportunity to contribute to patient care while also educating future Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) through our teaching program.

As a Wound Care RN, your primary focus will be on providing high-quality care to patients with complex wound needs. In addition to direct patient care, you will be responsible for teaching CNA classes, ensuring that the next generation of caregivers is well-equipped with the essential skills and knowledge they need. This role is vital in fostering a supportive environment for both patients and trainees, contributing to the overall mission of our hospital/health care industry.

Responsibilities

Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients with wound care needs Administer treatments and medications as prescribed Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary Conduct CNA classes, providing education on general nursing practices Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information Educate patients and their families about wound management and prevention Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state Previous experience in wound care is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level candidates Excellent communication and teaching skills Strong organizational and time management abilities Basic knowledge of nursing practices and patient care standards Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Commitment to continuous learning and professional development Compassionate approach to patient care
