Job Summary
Provide support and assistance to the men's basketball program by contributing to the coaching, recruiting, and administrative efforts of the department.
Essential
Functions: 30% Assist with the search and evaluation of recruitment procedures while coordinating oral and written correspondence with highly skilled student athletes. 30% Assist with various coaching and training activities during games, practices, and pre-season conditioning. Provide assistance in coordinating the traveling and scheduling arrangements for future games. 20% Perform various clerical duties to assist with office management. Prepare scouting reports and exchanges films with other universities for scouting purposes. 15% Assist in monitoring the academic and athletic development of student athletes to ensure player eligibility and to support the educational goals of individual students. 5% Cultivate positive relationships with the campus and surrounding community to encourage community involvement and University pride. Education: Requires a relevant Bachelor's Degree.
Experience
- Requires a minimum of 1 year experience playing and/or coaching men's basketball at the NCAA Division I level is required. Incumbent should possess an understanding of recruitment procedures and the technical fundamentals and principles of men's basketball. Strong communication skills and motivational skills are required.
