Primary Function: Supports all aspects of competitive NCAA Division I softball program, with primary responsibilities in coaching, recruiting, player development, scouting, and program operations; plays a key role in the instruction and development of student-athletes, focusing on pitchers and catchers, while assisting with team practices, game preparation, and in-game strategy; serves as the program’s lead recruiting coordinator, managing the identification, evaluation, and recruitment of prospective student-athletes in compliance with NCAA and institutional regulations; oversees recruiting events; coordinates team travel logistics; supports academic success initiatives for student-athletes; assists with home game operations; and serves as primary administrator for scouting and player-development technologies, providing data-driven insights to enhance team performance. Required
Bachelor’s degree plus at least four years of collegiate softball or baseball coaching or collegiate softball or baseball playing experience required. Student experience will be considered. Must abide by the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, and the University of Northern Iowa.
Experience using data capturing technology (Rapsodo, Blast Motion or similar technology); ability to navigate video and data scouting programs (Synergy, 6-4-3 or similar programs); understanding of advanced softball stats and sabermetrics; and experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs preferred.
