About this Opportunity
Fort George Community Services is seeking a passionate Teacher UPK to lead a classroom of 3-year-old children in partnership with an Assistant Teacher. The Teacher UPK is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that promotes school readiness, social-emotional development, and family engagement for up to 15 children.
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, child-centered curriculum and learning experiences.
Foster children's growth in literacy, language, numeracy, social-emotional, and problem-solving skills.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports children of all abilities.
Observe, assess, and document children's progress using Teaching Strategies GOLD and other required tools.
Develop individualized learning goals and lesson plans.
Build strong partnerships with families through ongoing communication, conferences, and engagement activities.
Maintain a safe, healthy, and organized classroom aligned with DOE, Head Start, and licensing requirements.
Collaborate with education staff, specialists, and families to support children's developmental needs.
Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, and field trips.
Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities.
