POSITION DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES The Instructor of English candidate will teach first-year writing courses, general education service courses, and other courses for which the candidate is credentialed. The selected candidate will teach a 5/5 load of undergraduate courses; maintain the required number of weekly office hours; serve on departmental and university committees; provide community service; demonstrate willingness to use technology in all courses, including on campus, hybrid, and online.
Minimum: Completion of Master's in English or equivalent field with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in English. Preferred candidates will have specialization in composition; provide a record of teaching excellence; and demonstrate excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. With nine years of service at LSUA, this Instructor position is eligible for promotion to Senior Instructor.
