The substitute teacher maintains a positive learning environment, follows lesson plans, promotes student engagement, and models Christian values and respect for all members of the school community.Job Responsibilities
Implement lesson plans and instructional activities prepared by the regular classroom teacher.
Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
Supervise students throughout the school day, including during class transitions and assigned duties.
Take attendance and follow established school procedures for reporting absences and tardiness.
Encourage student participation while maintaining appropriate classroom discipline.
Adapt instruction as needed to meet the needs of students.
Communicate any concerns, student behavior issues, or completed work to the regular teacher and school administration.
Uphold school policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards.
Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and Christian values.
Support and respect the Catholic identity, mission, and traditions of the school.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum education requirements as established by state regulations.
Valid teaching certificate or substitute teaching permit, if required by state law.
Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting preferred.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to follow written lesson plans and adapt to various subject areas.
