The University of Mary Washington, an NCAA Division III institution located in historic and vibrant Fredericksburg, VA, is seeking an assistant coach. Graduate tuition remission may be possible after one year of employment. Coaching Assistant duties include, but are not limited to, assisting the head coach with practice and meet preparation and coaching, recruiting, academics, fundraising, and the off-season program.
Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications
Knowledge of competitive swimming and diving techniques, training methods, and athlete development principles.
Skill in evaluating athletic talent and assisting with the recruitment of academically and athletically qualified prospective student-athletes.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaching staff, recruits, and university personnel.
Ability to work with colleagues as well as student athletes.
• An expressed interest in collegiate coaching.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a related field or equivalent training and experience.
