All Roane State locations with emphasis on Lenoir City.

  • Emphasis will be placed on teaching students in live, on-ground classes in one or more of the following areas: ENGL 0510-English Learning Support ENGL 1010-Composition I ENGL 1020-Composition II READ 0562-Reading Learning Support - (Essential)

Minimum Qualifications

ENGL 0510-Bachelor’s degree in English, English Education, Literature or Technical Writing from a regionally accredited institution.

ENGL 1010/1020-Master’s degree in a qualifying field (Creative Writing, English, Letters, or Literature), or Master’s degree with 18 hours in one of the aforementioned qualifying fields from a regionally accredited institution.

READ 0562-Bachelor’s degree in English, Reading, English Education, Adult Education or Reading Education from a regionally accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous teaching experience is desired.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated ability to teach traditional face-to-face classes. Use of technology (Zoom, D2L) to support student learning is expected.

Candidates who are called for an interview must notify Human Resources in writing of any reasonable accommodation needed prior to the date of the interview.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Literature, or a related field depending on the specific course taught. Previous teaching experience and proficiency with technology like Zoom and D2L are preferred.
