About the role

The Math Teacher is responsible for creating an engaging learning environment that promotes conceptual understanding and fluency based on Common Core Math Standards. They must own student outcomes through data-driven instruction and collaborate with peers to implement the RMP Math Academic Program.

We are Rocky Mountain Prep, a movement comprised of incredible educators, families, scholars, and advocates who are changing the face of public education in Colorado by democratizing college access and preparation for historically marginalized students and families.

On paper, we are a network of twelve college preparatory charter schools in the Denver metro area serving students as young as twelve weeks through twelfth grade.

Role Mission At RMP, we don’t just teach math – we teach students to be lifelong, strategic problem solvers.

We focus on mathematical practice standards and give students opportunities to think critically, collaborate with peers, and justify their strategies.

Math teachers will create an engaging, supportive learning environment that promotes problem-solving, math discourse, conceptual understanding, and fluency with grade-level knowledge and skills described in the Common Core Math Standards.

They understand that mistakes are a valuable part of learning and encourage students to take academic risks.

Math teachers are an integral part of our educational team, working collaboratively with their coach and peers to ensure our students' academic success by implementing the RMP Math Academic Program & Resources.

All Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep will: Own student outcomes by setting high expectations, using data to guide your teaching, maximizing instructional time, re-teaching where needed, and promoting outstanding scholar growth and proficiency.

Take ownership of your professional growth by actively engaging in regular coaching, being open to feedback, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Be consistently punctual and prepared for all lessons, coaching sessions, staff meetings, and other professional obligations (such as PD, parent-teacher conferences, etc).

Build a strong, inclusive classroom culture where scholars thrive through proactive routines, culturally responsive structures, and restorative practices that foster belonging.

Foster strong relationships with families through consistent communication, home visits, and engagement in school events, embracing each family's unique perspectives and promoting inclusion and diversity Model and embody RMP’s PEAK values (Perseverance, Excellence, Adventure, and Kindness) in all interactions with scholars, families, and staff.

Collaborate with colleagues, special education teachers, and support staff to deliver grade-level content and targeted interventions for all students.

Participate in and contribute to school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student and staff recruitment efforts.

Support school operations by assisting with daily duties such as arrival, dismissal, and lunch, ensuring a smooth, safe, and organized learning environment.

RMP is fast-paced and data-driven.

Your role combines clear expectations but also requires flexibility to adapt and contribute to our evolving Concept Essence.

Math Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep will: Be a continuous learner of strong math pedagogy and research.

Challenge students with tasks that encourage deep thinking and active problem-solving, letting them take the lead in their learning Encourage multiple solution strategies for any math problem or concept.

Incorporate strategies that promote conceptual understanding and procedural fluency with grade-level math topics.

Implement network math intervention strategies based on student data that support students with unfinished learning.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s or master’s degree (any subject) Other Requirements Within the first year of your employment, it’s required to complete CDE READ Act training or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) -45 contact hours Pass a background check Demonstrate Eligibility to work in the United States Preferred Certifications We use E-Verify to confirm the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires.

Compensation and Benefits Salary: Full-time position with a salary range of $60,000 to $89,000, based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree and be eligible to work in the United States. Within the first year, the teacher must complete CDE READ Act or CLD training and pass a background check.
