About the role

The Adjunct Instructor is responsible for teaching assigned courses and providing academic guidance to students. They will also assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum and organizational framework.

Description Freed-Hardeman University is accepting applications for a future Adjunct Instructor position. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed by the Department Chair and/or Dean when openings become available. Adjunct positions are on a semester-by-semester basis.

Responsibilities

of the Adjunct Instructor will include but not be limited to: Teach the required/assigned course. Evidence of knowledge and skills related to the teaching of adults. Help develop, implement, evaluate and update the purpose, philosophy, objective and organizational framework of Freed-Hardeman University. Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the assigned curriculum. Provide academic guidance to students in collaboration with the chair/dean of the program. Plan and provide theoretical instruction and clinical experiences that reflect an understanding of the philosophy, objectives and curriculum. Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes related to the course, the discipline’s knowledge and practice. Schedule time for classroom preparation. Perform other similar duties as assigned.

Requirements

Faithful member of the Church of Christ. The expected minimum credentialing is a Master’s degree in the specified discipline, or Master’s degree in a related field that includes at least 18 hours of the specified discipline; however, a Ph.D. is preferred. Preferred teaching experience on the college/university level. Strong interpersonal skills and positive energy regarding professional education. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other faculty members, as well as students. Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills. Ability to perform the requirements of the job description (listed above).
