This coach will be responsible for the development of student-athletes competing in the shot put, discus, hammer throw, and javelin. The position includes practice planning, technical instruction, recruiting, equipment and facility management and assisting with team operations. • Develop and implement annual training plans for the shot put, discus, hammer throw and javelin. · Provide individualized technical instruction and event-specific strength and conditioning guidance to throwers. · Plan and supervise daily practices while monitoring athlete development and performance. · Recruit qualified student-athletes who can succeed both athletically and academically. · Manage the throws equipment inventory and assist with the maintenance, organization and safety of throwing facilities. · Assist with meet management, travel and other team operations as assigned. · Promote academic achievement, personal development and a positive team culture among student-athletes. · Maintain knowledge of and compliance with NCAA, Missouri Valley Conference and University policies.
