About the role

The teacher is responsible for planning and implementing learning experiences that promote developmental readiness in literacy and numeracy. They must also manage social-emotional growth and maintain regular communication with parents through reports and conferences.

Our Early Learning Center is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teacher to create a nurturing and engaging classroom environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. The ideal candidate will foster positive relationships with children and families, support age-appropriate learning experiences, and help build a strong foundation for lifelong success. Responsibilities and Duties: Duties include but are not limited to:

Plan and implement learning experiences that promote all developmental areas, including improving the readiness of children for school by developing their literacy phonemic, print, numeric awareness, and language.

Organize and prepare teaching material in order to carry out weekly lesson plans and provide opportunities for each child that prepare the children for success in school.

Guide children in the development of social and self-help skills.

Conduct quarterly assessments of each child in the classroom

Support children's social and emotional development through positive child guidance approaches and the development of positive relationships in the classroom.

Schedule and conduct parent- teacher conferences no less than two times per year.

Provide no less than monthly progress reports on each child to their parent.

  • Early childhood teachers should be at least 19 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED) in addition, the early childhood teacher shall have achieved: associate’s degree in child development or early childhood education or, one year, 1,560 clock hours, experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours of credits from an accredited college or university with at least six semester hours in early childhood education or child development; or Child Development Associate Credential (CDA); or, Certified Childcare Professional (National Early Childhood Program Accreditation); or Gateways to Opportunity Credentials of ECE 3 or higher or ITC 3 or higher.
  • One year of work experience in human services, child development or related field preferred.

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma and either an associate degree in early childhood education, a CDA credential, or specific college credits combined with relevant experience. A valid driver's license and automobile insurance are required.
