About the role

The teacher is responsible for delivering the Great Hearts curriculum to second-grade students while maintaining an orderly and joyful classroom environment. They must monitor student progress, partner with leadership for behavioral needs, and foster strong partnerships with families.

Position Summary

Great Hearts currently provides over 30,000 K-12 students with access to a high quality, classical liberal arts education. We believe the highest goal of education is to become good, intellectually and morally. K-5 Lead teaching role: As a Homeroom Teacher you provide a welcoming and nurturing classroom that guides students to build a deep sense of wonder and a love of learning. Curricular elements include Spalding Phonics, Singapore Mathematics, as well as rich content in History, Science, and Literature. As a Homeroom Teacher you enjoy the support of an Assistant/Apprentice Teacher in your classroom. Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner. Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment. Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships. Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching. Required/Preferred Education: Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role Certification is not required for general education All majors are welcome US Work Authorization required Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements. Requirements
