The Georgia Lottery PRE-K Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the educational initiatives and administrative functions within the Georgia Lottery PRE-K program. This position involves assisting in the coordination and implementation of educational activities, ensuring a nurturing and supportive environment for young children, and supporting administrative tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in Classroom Activities

Support the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans, activities, and educational programs designed for young children.

Child Development Support

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.

Supervision and Safety

Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, both in the classroom and during outdoor activities.

Collaboration

Work closely with the lead teacher, parents, and other staff members to coordinate activities and share information regarding children’s progress.

Administrative Support

Assist with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, maintaining attendance records, and preparing materials for lessons and activities.

Parent Communication

Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress, activities, and any concerns that may arise.

Professional Development

Participate in training sessions, workshops, and meetings to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education.

Qualifications

  • associate degree equivalent; bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting.
  • Experience with Montessori School preferred Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with young children.
  • Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry children and classroom materials.

Stamina and physical agility to actively engage with children throughout the day.

Working Conditions

Typically works indoors in a classroom setting.

May require occasional outdoor activities or field trips.
