Position Summary

The intercollegiate athletics program is an integral part of the university striving to achieve the same standards of excellence in athletics that exist within academic programs. The program is concerned with the physical and mental welfare of the student and strives to ensure that every athlete has the opportunity to succeed academically and obtain a degree. Sport programs are a vital function of the University at large. This position is responsible for the assisting in the successful planning, direction and administration of all aspects of the University's NCAA Division I Program. Job Duties: Assist in developing, directing, and advancing a successful Division I Softball program. Coordination of needs for the program, including Skill Development, Practice & Game, Scouting Preparation Assist with operational duties in the program Assist in development of student-athletes Lead and motivate student-athletes to maximize their potential. Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, adherence, and commitment to all NCAA, Conference, State, and Institutional rules and regulations Assist with the cultivation of a team culture that ensures appropriate and acceptable student behavior. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred Combination of Division I collegiate Softball coaching experience preferred Knowledge of NCAA rules required Salary & Timeline: $9,000 for the duration Position Duration: September 2026 – May 2027 29 hours per week

Full-time employees are eligible to receive tuition waiver benefits, as well as dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed at 0.5 FTE or above are eligible for undergraduate dependent tuition grants of up to 50%. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position. This position is contingent on funding from the Colorado State Legislature, approval by the Board of Trustees, and subject to the policies and regulations of the University of Northern Colorado.
