Affective Needs (AN) Teaching Position Full-Time, 1.0 FTE Starting August 2026 for the entire school year School-based position supporting students with emotional, behavioral, and affective needs

About the Role

  • Hello, Special Education Teachers! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Special Education Teacher to support students in Brighton, CO. In this role, you’ll provide individualized academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students in a structured educational setting. You’ll help create a safe, supportive classroom environment while partnering with school teams to support student growth and success. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact with students who benefit from additional emotional and behavioral support while working alongside a collaborative district team and a supportive, therapist-run company.   • + 401(k) with company match Reimbursement for licensure and professional development + referral bonuses What You’ll Do Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student behavioral, emotional, and academic needs Provide specialized instruction and behavioral support in an Affective Needs setting Create a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes emotional regulation and learning Implement behavior supports and collaborate on intervention strategies Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, school psychologists, social workers, and families Monitor student progress and adjust instruction and supports accordingly Write progress reports and maintain compliant documentation Support students in building coping, self-regulation, communication, and social-emotional skills What We’re Looking For Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license with Special Education endorsement Experience supporting students with behavioral, emotional, or affective needs preferred Strong classroom management, de-escalation, collaboration, and relationship-building skills School-based experience preferred, but not required About Ampersand Therapy Ampersand Therapy is a women- and therapist-operated company built by providers who understand school-based work.
