What You'll Do: Evaluations: Complete Health and Development (H&D) evaluations for students referred for Special Education services, including mandated screenings for three-year reviews. Team Collaboration: Serve as a member of the Student Study/Student Success, Individual Education Plan, and 504 Teams to provide assessments and recommendations on health-related issues. Plan Development: Develop Individualized Health Support Plans (IHSP), Emergency Care Plans, and provide case management for students with specialized health care needs. Certified School Nurse Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college or university. Preliminary School Nurse Credential and completed the audiometry certification course or a valid Clear School Nurse Credential preferred.
Expertise in word processing, database, and spreadsheet software. Ability to interpret complex directions and produce clear, concise reports. Strong communication skills, including with individuals of limited English proficiency. Knowledgeable in the social, emotional, and physical needs of children through adults. Familiar with federal, state, and local health regulations for students.
Frequent engagement in tasks such as reaching, handling, standing, walking, and lifting items, with or without reasonable accommodations.
