About the Role

Lead a special education classroom serving students with diverse learning needs. You'll develop and implement IEPs, manage classroom behavior using PBIS, supervise paraprofessionals, and collaborate with families and staff to support each student's academic and social growth. This role combines instructional leadership with hands-on teaching in a supportive, mission-driven environment. Modify standard lesson plans and using specialized teaching techniques (e.g., multi-sensory learning, scaffolding) to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Use both formal and informal tools to monitor academic and behavioral performance, then updating IEP goals based on this data. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes general education teachers, parents, school counselors, speech therapists, and administrators to provide holistic support. Coordinate special education documentation, maintaining confidential records, and ensuring legal compliance with federal and state regulations like the Individuals with Disabilities Act. Implement behavior intervention plans, utilizing positive reinforcement, and managing classroom crises to create a safe learning environment.

Requirements
