The Assistant Teacher will support classrooms within the Early Education Center to provide high-quality educational and developmental services. They will report directly to the Deputy Director and assist with diverse daily classroom responsibilities.

Our award-winning, nationally-renowned Early Childhood Center (ECC) is a model program and lab school for innovation designed to provide the best possible educational, developmental and social services to 147 very low-income preschoolers and their families—all eligible for Head Start—and to advance the field of early childhood education and development on a national level. We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and set the standard for comprehensive educational and family services in the preeminent Early Childhood setting. Our holistic approach prepares children for success in elementary school and in life by offering a seamless, age-appropriate curriculum that strengthens language, literacy, motor, social and emotional and cognitive development, as well as integrated Family Services. Our educational curriculum includes art, music, movement, swimming, farm-to-table meals and many other components from our multifaceted settlement house.
